Blustery strings and lilting arrangements were key in the lush world of George Melachrino and his Orchestra. A film coposer in the ‘40s and ‘50s, he hit on the concept of music to accompany everyday pursuits. Music for dining (we’ve all seen that scene in American Beauty), music for relaxation, to help you sleep, for the nostalgic traveler, for courage and confidence (phew!), they were all his. ‘Music To Work Or Study By’ seems just perfect for back-to-school 2024 (sort of).
